  12. Prepare 2 tsp Chopped coriander leaves for Garnishing

  1. Wash & soak the tuvar dal in clean water for 5 to 10 min. Strain & add it to a cooker. Add 4 cups of water. Slice in the tomatoes, green chillies & onions to it. Add salt as required. Add a pinch of turmeric powder. Close the lid and cook for 3 whistles.
  2. Switch off the flame & open the lid when the pressure goes down. Adjust the consistency by adding water if required. Do not make it too thin. If water is added bring it to boil once again and switch off the flame.
  3. Heat coconut oil in a pan for tempering. Add mustard seeds & when it splutters add asafoetida powder, broken Byadagi chilli & curry leaves. Saute for 5 sec and add it to the Bele saaru and close the lid. Tasty Bele Saaru / Tuvar dal rasam is ready to be served with rice & fish fry.
